Not sure why anyone would take their BMW anywhere else. I have had many BMWs over the years and been to many shops. Edge is by far the most straight-forward and honest that I have dealt with. Couple of recent stories where Edge saved me a lot of money. I own a 98 318ti and a 97 318i. Old cars that I do not want to spend excess money on. Just need them running nice and safe. 1) The 318ti automatic transmission six months ago would not shift smoothly. Since it was a transmission, I took it to a trans specialist. They wanted to drop and rebuild the transmission/torque converter for a bunch of money. Car is only worth $3K. I took the car to Edge and after a couple hours, they diagnosed it as a bad catalytic converter. Apparently, they found the cat had disintegrated from the inside and was blocked. Engine could not breath and rev properly and was not giving the correct signal to the transmission to shift. Since it was an old car, and a new BMW cat was really expensive, they recommended an aftermarket 50 state C.A.R.B. legal cat for less than half. Installed it and the car runs great now. 2) The 318i recently would not pass smog. The smog shop that I took it to thought it was definitely the catalytic converter and needed a new one. Made sense to me as I just replaced the cat on the 318ti with similar mileage. Before I did anything further, I took the car to Edge. After 1 hour of diagnosis, they found a vacuum leak, replaced a seal and the car passed smog with flying colors. I see a few reviews stating that Edge is high priced but we own BMWs and the two examples above are why you want to pay the experts at Edge to take care of your cars. Thanks Edge for saving me a ton of cash.
